Find out what people search for and which keywords are worth tracking
Keyword research is the study of what people type into Google about a topic, with search volume, difficulty and intent. Type a topic, choose the country and the language, and Path Ranker brings up to 100 search ideas, each with the average monthly searches, how hard it is to rank, the cost per click and the intent behind the search. You pick the ones to track in Google rankings.
How it works
Type the topic
In Rankings, under Keyword research, write a topic (for example, "seo agency"), choose the country and the language and click Search.
See the ideas
The list brings search ideas around the topic, the most searched first, with monthly searches, difficulty from 0 to 100, cost per click in dollars, the intent of the search and the trend of the last 12 months.
Track the ones you pick
Tick the ideas you care about and click Track selected: they go into the rank tracking of the domain you chose and keep the numbers they came with.
What each idea shows
Monthly searches
The average monthly searches of the idea in the country and language you chose. It is an estimate based on Google's keyword data, not an exact count.
Difficulty
A score from 0 to 100: the higher, the harder to rank among the first results. It is for comparing one idea with another.
Cost per click
The average cost per click that advertisers pay for the keyword, in dollars (US$). It helps you see the commercial value of the search, even if you do not advertise.
Search intent
What the person wants when searching: information, navigation, comparison or purchase.
12-month trend
A small chart with the searches of each of the last 12 months, to see whether demand rises, falls or changes with the time of year.
Track with one click
The ideas you tick go into the rank tracking of the domain, in the country and language of the search, and get their position read in Google like the other keywords.
Repeated searches do not use the quota
The same topic, in the same country and language, within 7 days comes from the account's history and the screen shows the date of the search. Only a new search counts against the monthly quota.
What the research does not do
- The numbers are estimates based on Google's keyword data. They are for comparing ideas and choosing where to start, not an exact count of visits.
- Some ideas come without difficulty or without cost per click and show a dash in their place.
- Each search brings 100 ideas at most, and the screen shows how many exist in all. For some topics and countries, the search may bring none.
- This version has no preview of the results page for each idea. To see the position and the blocks of the page, track the keyword.
- Cost per click is always in US dollars (US$), in any country.
Which plans include it
Keyword research is part of Starter (30 searches a month), Pro (150 a month) and Enterprise (600 a month). Free does not include it. Tracking the ideas you pick counts against the plan's keywords: 50 on Starter, 300 on Pro and 1,000 on Enterprise.

- Not yet. In this version the research brings the idea's numbers. To see what shows up in Google, track the keyword and read the position and the blocks of the results page.
