See where your site ranks in Google, keyword by keyword
Google ranking is the place a page holds in the results of a search; Path Ranker tracks that position keyword by keyword. Add the searches your customers use to find the service. Path Ranker reads Google's results every week (every day for the few keywords your plan allows) and shows the position, the change, the page that ranks, the competitors and what else the results page brings.
How it works
Add the keywords
In Rankings, pick the domain, write one keyword or phrase per line and choose the country, the language and the device (desktop or mobile). With Search Console connected, Path Ranker suggests the keywords your site already shows for; you can also bring them in from the keyword research.
Path Ranker reads Google
Each keyword is read every week and, for the few your plan lets you mark with Read every day, every day. To read right away, use Check now. Scheduled readings go through a queue and usually take a few minutes.
You see the position and what changed
Each keyword shows the position, the change since the previous reading (a jump of 10 places or more is read again within minutes before it counts), the page of your site that ranks, the blocks of the results page and the competitors' positions. The panel sums it all up and estimates visibility.
What the tracking shows
Position and change
The site's best position in Google's results for the keyword, in the country, language and device you chose, and how many places it went up or down since the previous reading.
The page that ranks
Which page of the site holds the position for each keyword. If the site does not show up in the results read, the keyword is marked as outside the first positions.
Blocks of the results page
Whether there is a featured snippet and whether it is the site's, whether there is an AI answer (AI Overview) and whether it cites the site, whether there is People also ask and whether there is a local pack.
Competitors
You add competitor domains to each monitored domain and see each one's position for every keyword, next to yours.
Estimated visibility
An index from 0 to 100 that compares the clicks the site tends to get, from the positions it holds, with those of ranking first in every keyword. When all keywords carry the monthly searches from the keyword research, each one weighs by its volume.
Share of estimated clicks
With competitors added, the estimated split of clicks among the tracked domains, which adds up to 100%. It is an estimate based on public studies of click-through by position.
Summary of the keywords
The panel shows how many keywords are tracked, the average position, how many are in the top 3 and the top 10 and how many fell outside the results read.
Feeds the SEO and AI goals
Keywords in the top 3, citations in the AI answers on Google and featured snippets won go into the SEO and AI goals panel of full analyses, from the first analysis after the first reading of the keywords.
What the tracking does not do
- It reads the results only down to your plan's depth: 30 on Starter and 50 on Pro and Enterprise. A keyword ranking beyond that shows as outside the first positions read.
- On small sites, the position tends to vary from one reading to the next. The trend across several readings matters more than a single number.
- Visibility and share of clicks are estimates, based on public studies of click-through by position. They are for comparing and following progress, not for predicting visits.
- It does not measure the position on the map: the geogrid, which shows the position at each point of the city, is a Google Business Profile feature. Here the local pack only shows up as one block of the results page.
- Scheduled readings go through a queue and may take a few minutes; instant checks have a monthly limit on each plan.
Which plans include it
Rank tracking is part of Starter, Pro and Enterprise; Free does not include it. Starter: 50 keywords, reading down to position 30, 3 competitors per domain and 20 instant checks a month. Pro: 300 keywords (30 read every day), down to position 50, 10 competitors per domain and 100 instant checks. Enterprise: 1,000 keywords (100 read every day), down to position 50, 20 competitors per domain and 300 instant checks. Keywords count across the whole account; competitors are set per domain.

- Google tends to show slightly different results depending on the time, the device and where the person searches, and on small sites the position tends to swing more. That is why it is better to look at the trend across several readings, not a single number.
- Scheduled readings go through a queue and usually take a few minutes. Until then, the keyword shows as Waiting for the first reading. Check now reads right away and counts against your plan's instant checks.
- No. They are estimates based on public studies of the share of clicks by position. They are for comparing the site with the competitors you added and following progress, not for predicting the number of visits.
- No. It reads Google's list of results. The local pack only shows up as one of the blocks of the results page. The position on the map, point by point, is the geogrid of the Google Business Profile.
- No. The tracking works without it. With the account connected, Path Ranker suggests the keywords your site already shows for in Google, at no extra cost, and one click puts each one in the list of keywords to track.
