Know whether each SEO and AI adjustment worked, with a number and a goal
SEO and AI goals are the numbers that tell whether each adjustment made to a site worked: the measured value, the goal to reach and its state. Every full analysis on the paid plans ends with ten adjustments that tend to bring clients. Each one shows the number that tells whether it worked, the goal to reach and its state: on target, below target or not measured, saying what is missing to measure it.
How it works
Run a full analysis
The panel comes with the full analysis on the paid plans; there is nothing to switch on. To measure everything, connect Search Console and GA4 in Integrations and add keywords to the rank tracking: they are measured from the first analysis after their first reading.
Path Ranker measures
The numbers come from the analysis itself (titles, Core Web Vitals, call to action, structured data and direct answers), from Search Console, from GA4 and from the rank tracking. Referring domains come in when link data exists for the account.
You see the state
Each adjustment appears with its goal and state. Whatever could not be measured says what is missing. The SEO and AI goals section is in the HTML and Markdown reports and on the analysis screen, and three new findings explain what is below target.
The ten adjustments
Title and description with the brand and the service together
Reads two things: how many of the key pages (the home page and the offer pages) carry the brand and the subject together in the title, and the click-through rate by position on non-brand searches in Search Console, for positions 1 to 3 and 4 to 10, each range with at least 200 impressions. Goal: 8 in 10 key pages with brand and subject in the title and a CTR of at least 50% of what the position usually gets, with no drop against the previous period.
One page per service, each about one subject
Reads how many tracked keywords are in the top 3 positions, from the rank tracking. Goal: up 2 points or more in 4 to 8 weeks, or holding 80% or more. The state only comes out once there is a reading at least 4 weeks old to compare with.
Business Profile and identical name, address and phone everywhere
Reads the clicks on searches for the brand name in Search Console against the previous period, and checks that name, address and phone match between the structured data and the site's pages. Goal: no drop in searches for the brand name.
Contact button and call to action above the fold
Checks, on mobile, whether the call to action shows in the first screen, without scrolling. Goal: in the first screen. It comes from the analysis's behavior test; if the test did not run, the state is not measured.
Important pages back in Google's index
Reads, in Search Console, how many of the pages checked are in Google's index. Goal: 95% or more indexed.
Core Web Vitals in the green
Reads LCP, INP and CLS with real visitor data when it exists and, without it, the mobile lab test (LCP and CLS; INP only exists with real visitor data). Goal: LCP up to 2.5 s, INP up to 200 ms and CLS up to 0.1.
Brand mentions on niche sites, not link volume
Reads the pace of new referring domains per month, when link data exists for the account and there is an earlier analysis 20 days old or more. Goal: +3 or more a month. Without those, the state is not measured.
Organization with sameAs linking the entity
Checks whether the site declares the Organization in structured data and links at least two official profiles through sameAs, and reads in how many of the tracked searches that show an AI answer on Google the site is cited. Goal: Organization with sameAs and citations in AI answers, with no drop.
Direct answers about the company and its services
Reads how many of the pages' questions are answered right below their heading and how many featured snippets the site won on the tracked searches. Goal: half or more of the questions answered and featured snippets won, with no drop.
AI traffic separated in GA4
Reads, in GA4, the visits coming from AI assistants and the change against the previous period. Goal: AI visits present, with no drop.
What the goals do not do
- They never guess: a number that cannot be measured shows as Not measured and says what is missing, instead of becoming a made-up value.
- A drop only counts beyond normal variation. For searches for the brand name and for AI visits, it is a drop of 10% or more that chance does not explain: 20 to 18 clicks is not a drop, 100 to 75 is. For CTR, it is a drop of 15% or more that chance does not explain.
- Click-through rate by position is judged only with at least 200 impressions in each position range, and searches for the brand name are compared only when the previous period had at least 20 clicks.
- The adjustments that depend on the rank tracking (keywords in the top 3, citations in AI answers and featured snippets) are measured from the first analysis after the keywords' first reading, and the one-page-per-service adjustment stays not measured until there is a reading at least 4 weeks old.
- The reading of name, address and phone compares the structured data with the site's pages. It does not read the Google Business Profile; the Google profile module does that.
- Structured data that only exists after JavaScript is not treated as absent: in that case the Organization is left unread.
- The goals are references for following progress, not promises of results: meeting a goal does not guarantee more clients.
Which plans include it
The goals panel is part of the full analyses on Starter, Pro and Enterprise. Free does not include it: its reduced analysis does not bring the panel.

- That the number could not be measured in this analysis, for example because Search Console or GA4 is not connected, because the rank tracking keywords have not been read yet or because link data is not available yet. The panel says what is missing and does not make up a value.
- Only a drop larger than normal variation. From 20 to 18 clicks on searches for the brand name is not a drop; from 100 to 75 is. The rule applies to searches for the brand name (a drop of 10% or more), to AI visits (10% or more) and to CTR (15% or more). Searches for the brand name are compared only when the previous period had at least 20 clicks.
- Not in this reading. Path Ranker compares the site's structured data with the site's pages. The comparison with the Google Business Profile is done by the Google profile module.
- No. These are adjustments that tend to bring clients, and the goals are for following progress. The result depends on the market, the competition and time.
- In the SEO and AI goals section of the HTML and Markdown reports and on the analysis screen. Three new findings explain what fell below target: a title without the brand and the subject together, a click-through rate below what the position usually gets and a drop in searches for the brand name.
- To measure the adjustments that depend on them, yes: click-through rate, searches for the brand name and indexing come from Search Console, and visits from AI assistants come from GA4. The rest come from the analysis itself and from the rank tracking.
